People Dont Change
AKA ED
Ed is our 6
year old Thoroughbred that we plan on racing this year. He was
given a year off and now we feel he is ready to go. Ed has 8 starts
with 2 wins and has only been out of the money once.

Bad Lady Peppy Lena
Lena is our
4 year old Quarterhorse who is a granddaughter of Peppy San Badger.
She is my personal ride. Janine and I broke her.

Chateau is retired from racing
and Janine's personal ride.
-------------------------------------
For those of you who don't know
me, I was always a Quarterhorse (No not the one in front of Wal-Mart
that you put the quarter in the slot) and Appaloosas type of man.
Then I met the two ladies below that changed my whole way of
thinking about Thoroughbreds. The horse in the picture is Risky
Decision. She is by Shadow In The Dark (by Seattle Slew) out
of Bloomington Girl. My wife lost her in a claiming race at
Fairmount Park in 1997 and spent 10 years trying to find her. Then
in 2007 her prayers were answered and they were reunited. That my
friends is a whole "nuther" story. This a tribute to my loving wife
and the Greatest TB that ever run a race.

Double
D Acres would like to announce the sale of Blue's Navajo Rain to
Allison Gorman. Congratulations Allison! This young lady touched our
hearts with her story.
When Allison was 11 years old she decided she wanted to own a horse.
Dad and Mom told her they would pay for riding lessons but she would
have to save her own money to buy a horse and pay for the needs of
the horse such as boarding, vet, farrier etc. Well Allison being the
determined young lady she is, devised a plan to get her horse. For
the next 3 years she took whatever job she could get, avoided mall
trips with her friends and managed to save enough money to purchase
her very own horse and pay a years worth of board for her horse.
She didn't stop here. After she purchased Rain she sat down and sent
Thank You cards to all those people who hired her for odd jobs and
made her dream a reality. Let's face it folks, how many teenagers do
you know that are that determined and responsible? Here at the farm
our "hat is off" to this remarkable young lady and to her parents.
As far as we are concerned we don't think that we could have found
Rain a better home! May God bless you in your endeavors Allison.
